PM Speaks Over Koh Kong’s Special Economic Zones

KOH KONG: On Monday morning, Prime Minister Hun Sen has presided over the inauguration of National Road No. 48, which connects Sihanoukville to Khemara Phoumin city of Koh Kong Province. The construction is aimed to expand and improve the quality of the road, promoting transportation and travel to citizens and businesses.

While presiding over the ceremony, Prime Minister Hun Sen has also given some important remarks over the Special Economic Zones of Koh Kong Province.

During the groundbreaking ceremony held in Sre Ambel district, Prime Minister Hun Sen has expressed his hope the coast province of Koh Kong, will have more special economic zones in the future, in order to boost the economic growth.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has also said the number of special economic zones in Koh Kong will be not less than other provinces, including Preah Sihanouk.

The Premier shared in his speech how he has noted the improvement of living standard and progress of Koh Kong through historical development.

The Prime Minister has reminded the time when Koh Kong had no road connection from the province to other areas of the country. As for now, the National Road No. 48 will not only connect Koh Kong to other provinces, but will promote businesses and trade.

According to the Council for the Development of Cambodia, 54 special economic zones are set throughout the Kingdom, four of which located in Koh Kong province.
